What is Afterpay?

Afterpay offers instalment plans for RATIONALE Clients when they shop online at or at Australian Flagships. Buy what you want today and pay for it in four instalments, interest-free.

All you need to apply for Afterpay is a debit or credit card, to be over 18 years of age, and to be a resident of Australia.

How do I use Afterpay?

Simply shop at a RATIONALE Flagship or online at, add items to your shopping bag and checkout as normal. At the checkout, choose Afterpay as your payment method. First-time customers will need to register with Afterpay and provide payment details. Returning customers can simply log in to make their purchase.

Please note that all items in your shopping bag must be eligible for Afterpay.

Can I use Afterpay if I’m shopping outside of Australia?

Afterpay is only available via the Australian website or within Australian Flagships.

Items purchased via the Australian website with a valid Afterpay account may be shipped internationally, if your location is available at checkout. To find out more, please visit our Shipping and Returns page.

Can I use Afterpay at a RATIONALE Flagship?

Afterpay is available at all RATIONALE Flagship locations within Australia, via the Afterpay Card.

What is the Afterpay Card?

The Afterpay Card has replaced the barcode system of shopping in-store. It’s a contactless Mastercard stored in your Google Pay or Apple Wallet, and is easy to set up and use. You will need to activate your Afterpay Card via the app to use Afterpay in RATIONALE Flagships.

Can I use another payment method in conjunction with Afterpay?

Afterpay can only be used in conjunction with a RATIONALE Gift Card. You will need to enter the Gift Card details at the checkout first, and then proceed to pay the balance using Afterpay.

Can I use Afterpay for all RATIONALE formulations and treatments?

Yes, Afterpay can be used for all RATIONALE formulations or treatments purchased via the Australian website or within Australian Flagships.

Can I purchase a Gift Card or eGift Card using Afterpay?

Afterpay is not available for RATIONALE Gift Card or eGift Card purchases.

How does the Afterpay payment schedule work?

Most Clients will be required to make their first payment at the time of purchase, with the remaining three payments debited every two weeks from your chosen payment method.

You can view and manage upcoming payments via your Afterpay account.

What if I cannot pay an upcoming instalment?

If the funds are not available on your chosen payment method or you do not make the required payment by the due date, Afterpay may charge a late fee. To view the Afterpay terms, please click here.

How do I return or exchange an item purchased using Afterpay?

Afterpay purchases can be returned or exchanged in line with RATIONALE policies – please visit our Shipping and Returns page to find out more.

Clients can request a return either by contacting the location where the purchase was originally made, or by contacting RATIONALE Customer Service on 1800 350 821. Please do not return your order to Afterpay.
